How to share potty progress with family and caregivers

Send an invitation from Settings

Only the Family admin can invite a family member by email from Settings and choose a role. The invited person signs in with the invited account to join the family.

Family invitations require OneStepTwo Premium. On the free plan, the Family admin is taken to the Premium offer instead of the invitation form.

Check the address before sending. An invitation is access to the family record, not only a one time copy of a progress update.

Understand Family admin, Guardian and Caregiver

The Family admin manages invitations, members, children, roles and family settings. This administration role is distinct from the Guardian and Caregiver roles assigned to invited members.

An invited Guardian can log and view activity. With Premium, Guardians are also eligible to use family event notification and reminder settings. Guardians do not manage members, children or family settings.

A Caregiver can log and view activity but cannot manage the family, use reminder settings or receive family event notifications.

Understand what is shared

Invited members can see the family’s child records, event history and Potty School progress according to the current app experience. Notes are part of that shared record.

Record only what the family needs for care. Use a direct private conversation for information that does not belong in a lasting shared note.

Know when another device updates

A saved offline event uploads after the app has a connection and reaches a sync trigger. Another device receives it on its next foreground, reconnect, later mutation or manual refresh.

The shared record is not an instantaneous communication channel. Call or message the caregiver directly when information is urgent.

Change or remove access

The Family admin can change an invited member’s role or remove that member from the family in Settings. Review access when a daycare arrangement, babysitting relationship or household need changes.

Removing access is a family management decision. It does not erase the fact that events were previously added to the shared family record.

Use the shared record without overreading it

A shared history can help adults coordinate the day. It does not diagnose, show which caregiver used the best approach or establish why a child had an accident.

For a consistent routine across daycare or two homes, agree on words and handoff details separately from the app permissions.
