Editorial responsibility

The guides are published by OneStepTwo. Brandon Hogan operates OneStepTwo and is responsible for the website and product. We do not invent author credentials, endorsements or medical review.

Source selection

For health and development adjacent topics, we prefer original guidance from established pediatric, public health and health system sources. Current examples include the American Academy of Pediatrics, Canadian Paediatric Society, NHS and Mayo Clinic.

We open each cited page, check that it supports the nearby summary and link directly to it. Community discussions may help us understand the words families use, but they are not treated as medical authority.

Plain language and attribution

We summarize sources in our own simple language and place links near the claims they support. We distinguish the source’s guidance from OneStepTwo’s practical product suggestions. A citation does not mean that the organization endorses OneStepTwo.

App claims

Instructions and product claims are checked against the current mobile apps, shared code, tests, privacy policy and technical documentation. We describe current limits, including role permissions and sync timing, instead of promising behavior the app does not provide.

Medical information boundary

OneStepTwo provides general educational information and product help, not medical advice. The app and guides do not diagnose, prescribe, determine readiness, explain the cause of a pattern or replace a qualified health professional.

We name calm reasons to contact a professional when reliable sources support them. A disclaimer does not make an unsupported claim acceptable, so uncertain claims are removed rather than softened with a warning.

Updates and corrections

Each guide shows its publication and update dates. Source links also show when they were last checked. We review a page when the product changes, a cited source changes, or a correction shows that the wording is unclear or inaccurate.

To report a correction, email onesteptwoapp@gmail.com with the guide link and the specific passage. We will check the original source or product behavior and update the page when a correction is needed.
