When to ask for help

You do not need the perfect words to ask a question. “Something feels different” is a place to start.

If pooing seems hard or painful

Constipation means poo is hard to pass or happens less often than usual. The NHS says to contact a doctor if you think your child may be constipated. Getting help early matters.

If something hurts

The Canadian Paediatric Society advises talking to a doctor about pain, holding poo in or blood in poo. Its guide lists other changes to ask about too.

Bring what you have noticed

You could note when the change began, what your child said and what you saw. A few notes or your Logbook may help you explain. OneStepTwo cannot assess symptoms or suggest treatment.
